Bowflex Revolution Review - Pros & Possible Cons
Pros
Leg press resistance up to 600Ibs. Benefits - Train your legs without using squats.
SpiraFlex resistance. Benefits - Resistance without iron plates. Free weights can be
one of the best ways to workout. However, they do have disadvantages, like: momentum, safety
at higher resistance levels, and having to have actual "weight" in your home.
SpiraFlex offers a smooth, quiet, and safe resistance - even at higher weight levels.
Adjustable arms. Benefits - Enables you to train your body from multiple angles. In
addition, gives you the freedom to create different Bowflex Revolution exercises.
10 year warranty on the Bowflex Revolution and the SpiraFlex plates. Benefits -
Home gyms do suffer normal wear and tear over time. With a 10 year warranty, Bowflex will
send you any replacement parts FREE of charge.
Adjustable. Benefits - Most home gyms will be designed for the
average person (5'10"). However, due to the Revolution's versatility, it can comfortably fit many
body types and sizes.
Comfortable with solid construction. Benefits - Workout with confidence.
Quiet. Benefits - One drawback of free weights can be noise - the banging and clanging of plates can be a problem. In addition to being a smooth workout, the SpiraFlex plates also offer a relatively quiet workout.
Possible Cons
- Overall size of the Revolution.
- The Revolution weighs 245Ibs.
One size doesn’t fit all. The Revolution seems to work the best for people who are between 5' 2 and 6'0.
- Maximum resistance of 300Ibs. (600Ibs. for leg press).
- An investment of up to $3,200. Bowflex does offer financing, however, at 21.9% interest (25.9% if you happen to miss a payment).
A better option could be Amazon.com or Bigfitness.com. Both offer financing for the Revolution with FAR better terms. In addition, they also offer discounts and FREE shipping (a bonus $200 savings)
Should You Invest in a Revolution, or Would Another Bowflex Home Gym be a Better Choice?
Who It Would Work Best for:
Who It May Not be the Right Choice for:
People who just want a basic workout. The Bowflex Sport or Blaze could be an even better investment. They offer:
60 Bowflex exercises to choose from
210Ibs. of power rod resistance (upgradeable to 310Ibs. or even 410Ibs.)
An investment of only $899 ($2,300 less than the Revolution)
Athletes, weight lifters, and bodybuilders, may also find the Revolution’s 300Ibs. limiting. The Bowflex Ultimate 2 may be a better investment. It offers:
95 Bowflex exercises to choose from
310Ibs. of power rod resistance (upgradeable to 410Ibs)
An investment of only $1,850 ($1,350 less than the Revolution)
